Spring Concert
Flowers, blue skies, showers, and cool nights are what Spring is all about. Celebrate the culmination of this year’s progress at the season finale of the Spartanburg Philharmonic Youth Orchestra’s 5th season! Shostakovich: Symphony no. 5
Join us for the Spartanburg Philharmonic’s season finale featuring three extraordinary works. The concert opens with An Act of Resistance by Joel Thomson followed by an American classic, The Three Black Kings by Duke Ellington, and will conclude with Dmitri Shostakovich’s epic Symphony no. 5. You won’t want to miss this experience!

A strong, robust music brew for the opening of our 95th Season. Featuring Beethoven’s Op. 95 - String Quartet no. 11, “Serioso” - and Op. 95 from Saint-Saëns' Fantaisie for solo harp sweetened by lighthearted, contemporary compositions.

Dvořák: From The New World
Your Spartanburg Philharmonic opens its monumental 95th Season with the brave and bold Symphony From the New World under the baton of our new Music Director, John Young Shik Concklin.
Dvořák's Symphony no. 9, opus 95 is filled with dancing Czech rhythms and familiar American folk melodies. The concert will open with a newly commissioned work by Spartanburg’s own Peter B. Kay followed by Xavier Foley’s Soul Bass, an extraordinary work for solo double bass and orchestra!
