Celebrating over 25 years of Music Sandwiched In, Spartanburg Philharmonic is proud to present an exciting line up of performers for its popular series at the Spartanburg County Public Library Headquarters! MSI is on-going, throughout our season, and all concerts are free and open to the public.
Join us every other Wednesday at the main branch of the library in the Barrett Community Room from 12:15 PM - 1:00 PM. Lunch is available for purchase, or you can pack one in. All are welcome! For more information, email pkay@spartanarts.org or call: (864) 278-9668.
The Spartanburg Philharmonic flute section is bringing their beautiful sound to MSI. Listen to the beautiful blend of Rhea Jacobus, Sally Frick, and Brennan Szafron’s sweet harmonies and peaceful lyricism, combined with instantaneous expressive control. Their liquid sound will sweep you away!
The traditional Celtic sounds of the Reel Sisters will transport you to the lush, rolling hills of Scotland. With a dash of Appalachian influence, sisters Kelly and Rosalind stir the hearts and delight the ears of listeners with their harp and smallpipes duo. Compelling tunes combine with The Sisters' approachable, lighthearted personalities to create a unique and intimate musical experience. The Reel Sisters' music is uplifting, stirring, and just sweet fun.
Tom Wright’s Cat & Mouse Ensemble is coming to shake up MSI again and we couldn’t be more excited! Always a fan-favorite, the band’s style and energy fuel the audience. Hear some of your favorite jazz and pop hits and come on a musical trip as the band’s first album, “Notes From The Journey” guides us through their tuneful travels!
A Recorder Sampler: Journey through time and hear instrumentation from the Baroque era when Southwind makes their Music Sandwiched In debut. Enjoy a brief and informative historical survey from the 16th to 20th century, and help us make 2024’s first MSI a special one!
On March 23rd we’re partnering with our friends over at the Spartanburg Little Theatre as we present our Best of Broadway concert, but we thought it would be a treat for you if they brought some glits and glam to the Music Sandwiched In stage!
