Tom Wright’s Cat & Mouse Ensemble is coming to shake up MSI again and we couldn’t be more excited! Always a fan-favorite, the band’s style and energy fuel the audience. Hear some of your favorite jazz and pop hits and come on a musical trip as the band’s first album, “Notes From The Journey” guides us through their tuneful travels!

A Recorder Sampler: Journey through time and hear instrumentation from the Baroque era when Southwind makes their Music Sandwiched In debut. Enjoy a brief and informative historical survey from the 16th to 20th century, and help us make 2024’s first MSI a special one!

On March 23rd we’re partnering with our friends over at the Spartanburg Little Theatre as we present our Best of Broadway concert, but we thought it would be a treat for you if they brought some glits and glam to the Music Sandwiched In stage!

Philharmonic Brass is coming to shake up your lunch as they hit the MSI stage once again! You’re invited to join familiar faces from the Spartanburg Philharmonic as they showcase their melodic excellence through powerful sound.

Ben Smith is an esteemed cellist and member of the Hendersonville Symphony, Piedmont Chamber Orchestra, and Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Always looking for new musical adventures, Cellosmith thrives in classical music while also exploring pop, jazz, traditional, and other genres as well.

Edgewise, comprised of Jon Grier, Vee Popat, Ian Bracchitta and Duane Malphrus is a Greenville based ensemble, all veteran performers in many idioms and teachers of many years. Jon Grier is a composer of many works in different genres and may be found at newertunes.com . He is now faculty Emeritus of the Greenville Fine Arts Center where he taught theory, harmony and composition for decades. Vee Popat is a multi-Reed specialist and is also the director of Greenville’s Fine Arts Center. Ian Bracchitta performs in the classical, jazz and popular idioms and is the principal bass of the Spartanburg Philharmonic. He has performed with dozens of national tours and artists at the Peace Center since 1990. He teaches at the SC Governor’s School and Furman University. Duane Malphrus has played with numerous jazz and rock ensembles over the years in the southeast and now has a large private studio of drum students. For jazz fusion fans here in the upstate you might remember Jon, Duane and Ian as members of the band, Oracle, that performed frequently in the tri-state area.

Fayssoux’s extravagant tales, emotion-filled vocals, and welcoming stage presence will keep you entertained as she gives you a piece of her southern roots accompanied by soothing acoustic guitar.

Tuba, Drums, Trumpet, Accordion, Clarinet come together and stir up one interesting and exciting musical experience that only a true Oompah band can create.

Dean of the School of the Arts at Converse University, Christopher Vaneman and Professor of Oboe and Music History, Kelly Vaneman are bringing their musicality and established style to the MSI stage once again!

With musicians who have performed with such artists as Ike & Tina Turner and Otis Redding, the members of the Carolina Players Band have over 20 years of experience, both with their excellent vocals and impeccable instrumentation.

WireWood consists of Laura Koelle and Keith Groover, a cello/guitar duo from Greenville, SC, specializing in instrumental versions of rock and pop songs.

BellaNova Electric Strings is a high-energy all-female electric violin/cello ensemble based in Greenville, SC.

Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, pupiled by Andrés Segovia’s protégé, and driven to obsession by Eddie Van Halen. He’s an award-winning composer and "accomplished classical/flamenco style guitarist" who soulfully “shreds on the electric" (Phil Keaggy), sharing the bill with Grammy winners and mesmerizing audiences nationwide with his electrifying live act since 2016. Join us for an hour with the always inspiring and entertaining, Gladius.
