Music from the Gilded Age

About

Visit the Gilded Age, an era of dazzling growth, grand ambitions, and extraordinary musical creativity. Selections from Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Dvořák, and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor reveal the warmth and expressive power of the late-Romantic string quartet tradition, while popular music of the 1870s to the late 1890s pepper the performance. Elegant, spirited, and full of contrast, this program captures an age where refinement met exuberance—and the concert hall met the street.

Arrive early and make an evening of it! Your ticket includes a one-hour pre-concert reception with drinks, setting the stage for a relaxed, social, and distinctly Romantic night out.
