The SPO continues its 2017-2018 season, Project Maestro, with guest conductor Scott Seaton conducting an exciting line-up of classics.
Guest conductor Scott Seaton is the third and final candidate to visit Spartanburg this season, auditioning for the position of Music Director of the SPO. Scott is in increasing demand on the international level after having won the INTERAKTION competition in Berlin and as a semi-finalist in the 2012 Sir Georg Solti International Conducting Competition in Frankfurt, Germany. Seaton is currently the Music Director of the North State Symphony and Principal Conductor of the Veridian Symphony Orchestra.
The program will also feature distinguished soloist, Andrew Sords. Following a decade in the spotlight, American violinist Andrew Sords has garnered accolades on 4 continents for his performances combining visceral virtuosity and ravishing tone. Hailed in the press as “a fully formed artist” (Kalisz-Poland News), “utterly radiant” (Canada’s Arts Forum), and “exceptionally heartfelt and soulful” (St. Maarten’s Daily Herald), Sords has received numerous awards and distinctions reflecting his career trajectory.
