Kathryn Boucher joined the Spartanburg Philharmonic as Executive Director in May of 2014. She works collaboratively with the Philharmonic Board of Directors on strategic initiatives in furthering the Philharmonic’s mission to enrich, inspire, and educate the Spartanburg community through live performances of high-quality music. With roots dating back to 1884, the Philharmonic is one of the largest performing arts organizations in the region.

Born and raised in Greenville, SC, Kathryn earned her Bachelor’s Degrees in Finance & Art History from Wofford College. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Arts Administration from Winthrop University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University. Her successful 20+ year career in arts management began as a Development Officer with the Mint Museums of Art in Charlotte, NC.

In addition to her leadership at the Spartanburg Philharmonic, Kathryn has been the part-time Art Gallery Director at Converse University for over 15 years. She is a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg, Leadership South Carolina, the SC Diversity Leaders Initiative through the Riley Institute at Furman University, the Women’s Leadership Institute of Furman University, and a Regional Fellow of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. In November of 2017, she was chosen as one of twelve in the nation to participate in the Emerging Leaders Program through the League of American Orchestras. Kathryn serves as an officer for Groups 5-6 for the League of American Orchestras.
