The Artists
Jacob Joyce, Guest Conductor
Jacob Joyce is a young conductor who’s quickly gained recognition as a dynamic and innovative presence on the podium. Joyce studied Orchestral Conducting with Hugh Wolff at the New England Conservatory. He has also received instruction at the Tanglewood Music Center and the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen.
“a dynamic and innovative presence on the podium”
Dominic Cheli, piano
I believe that every piece has a story, which is one of the biggest reasons I am so infatuated with music. The piano first attracted me because of its innate qualities: wide range of dynamics, color, texture, harmony, and possibility. My goal whenever I perform is to transport you, the listener, into the fantastical world created by the composer and their masterpiece.
“Pianist Dominic Cheli transfixed the audience. This young man was mesmerizing–his fingers were one with each key.”
