Ensemble Radieuse is a flexible chamber ensemble dedicated to making a broad range of classics accessible and enjoyable to a variety of audiences. Sometimes they appear simply as a flute/oboe duo, featuring Chris and Kelly Vaneman, and other times they are joined by a pianist, vocalist, or other friends. The performance will include numerous commissioned works and arrangements of well-loved pieces spanning from the Baroque to the present-day. Whether the piece is familiar or not, the vibrant and melodious combination of the flute and oboe will surprise and delight your ears.
Appearing most often with pianist Melanie Foster Taylor, Ensemble Radieuse performs regularly throughout the Southeast; they have played to great acclaim in England, Jordan, Panama, Michigan, Texas, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, as well as at New York City's St. Patrick's Cathedral and on Nashville Public Radio’s “Live in Studio C.” In 2006 they were prize winners in the National Flute Association's international Chamber Music Competition. Ensemble Radieuse’s premiere CD, Inbox, was released in spring of 2003.
