CURRENT Auditions

The next round of auditions will be scheduled for

Saturday, June 1, 2024

Auditions will begin around 9:00 AM*.

  • Assistant Concertmaster

  • Principal Violin 2

  • Violin Section

  • Principal Cello

*Three days prior to the audition, all applicants will be notified of their individual times.

How to Apply

The deadline for registration is:

Tuesday, May 28th @ 11:59 PM

Both of the following steps must be completed by the deadline above to apply:

  1. Completed Registration Form. The form requires:

    • your contact information;

    • your instrument and the highest* position for which you will be auditioning;

    • your availability during the upcoming season;

    • a current resume (to be uploaded) that includes educational background and performing organizations with which you are or have been affiliated in the last 10 years.

  2. Pay the $15 registration fee online (non-refundable).

 

*All applicants auditioning for a Principal position will also be considered for Assistant, Section,
and/or Sub, and all applicants auditioning for Section will be considered for the Substitute List.

All applicants are required to demonstrate either US citizenship or a legal eligibility to accept employment with the Spartanburg Philharmonic. The Spartanburg Philharmonic is an equal opportunity employer.
 
 
 

Location

Auditions will be held in the Blackman Music Building at Converse University:
580 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29302

The music building is on the north end of campus off of Drayton Ave. next to the Milliken Fine Arts Building. Musicians should park in the lot on the corner of Drayton Ave and N Fairview Ave. Enter the music building by passing under the breezeway between the fine arts building and the Milliken Art Gallery and continuing down the sidewalk.

Once inside, candidates will proceed downstairs to check-in. Auditions will be held in the Daniel Recital Hall.
