Hannah Simpson joined the Spartanburg Philharmonic in 2022 and serves as the organization's Director of Education & Community Engagement. In this role, she oversees education programs, community partnerships, and outreach initiatives that connect people of all ages. She is passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for students, educators, and families while expanding access to high-quality arts experiences throughout Spartanburg County.
A graduate of Dorman High School, Hannah earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a concentration in Choral Music and a Masters of Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. She attributes much of her professional success to the strong foundation she was given in the music education programs of Spartanburg County. Today, she is honored to support and advocate for the music educators who continue to inspire the next generation of musicians.
Prior to joining the Philharmonic, she built an accomplished career in public education as a middle and high school choral director. During her tenure as a teacher, she served in numerous leadership roles, including the LexRich 5 Leadership Academy, Music Director for the Lexington-Richland School District Five musicals, Data Team Facilitator, Social Media Director, and Professional School District Lead Teacher in partnership with the University of South Carolina, where she coached educators in strategies that promoted students' social-emotional growth.
Hannah is a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg's Class of 2025, and works to build meaningful partnerships that connect people of all ages through music and strengthen the cultural fabric of the Spartanburg community.
