Bob Borden became the librarian for the Spartanburg Philharmonic in 2015. Previously, Bob was the librarian for the Hamilton Symphony (now the Butler Philharmonic) in Ohio for 15 years. He retired to Spartanburg from Ohio after teaching orchestra in the public schools for 37 years. Bob earned his Bachelors Degree in Music Education from The University of Kentucky and Master’s Degree from Miami (Ohio)University.

He is a bass player, having played bass in community orchestras and musicals for 40 years. Bob is also a keyboard player having played in church and musicals also for the last 40 years. He is presently a keyboard player at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Bob is enjoying retirement but still teaches on occasion by substituting for string teachers in District 6 & 7.
