Pre-Concert Happy Hour
Chapman Cultural Center Theatre
What's on tap for the evening
Featuring the "top brass," the SPO offers an evening of All-American music ranging from the Revolutionary War to the 21st century. The orchestra's brass quintet will perform chorales, fanfares, and even a little ragtime in another fun and lighthearted Espresso Concert!
#HearHere: something new!
The SPO is pleased to partner with Treefalls, an organization dedicated to the performance of New Music in the south. After an Open Call for Scores from young and emerging composers in our region, a winning piece has been chosen for inclusion on the Espresso #3 concert.
Congratulations to Chandler Hyatt of Greer! His piece, Disjunction, will be premiered on the concert. Honorable Mentions were also awarded to Julie Mitchell (Atlanta, GA) for her piece Vérfürdő and to Isaac Pyatt (Greensboro, NC) for his piece Morn. The composers will be in attendance, and audience members will be able to meet them before and after the show!
Enjoy a drink while you listen
The Hub City Tap House and the Spartanburg Marriott will be serving FREE DRINKS to ticket holders during the pre-concert happy hour in the Chapman Cultural Center Theater Lobby.
Sample American wines and hors d'oeuvres from the Marriott or try out the newest beer from The Hub City Tap House - specially brewed this concert. It's going to be a great evening!
