What's on tap for the evening
Along with guest pianist, Dr. Elizabeth Child, the woodwinds of the SPO delve into South American and French selections in an expressive and eclectic mix of music. The program will feature works by Ibert, Poulenc, D'Rivera and even a little Mozart.
#HearHere: something new!
The SPO is pleased to partner with Treefalls, an organization dedicated to the performance of New Music in the south. After an Open Call for Scores from established composers in our region, a winning piece has been chosen for inclusion on the Espresso #2 concert.
Congratulations to John Moody of Spartanburg! His coffee-inspired piece, Drip, will be premiered on the concert. Congratulations also to David Cortello, whose work earned the Honorable Mention. John and David will be in attendance, and audience members will be able to meet them before and after the show!
Enjoy a drink while you listen
The Hub City Tap House and the Spartanburg Marriott will be serving FREE DRINKS to ticket holders during the pre-concert happy hour in the Chapman Cultural Center Theater Lobby.
Sample French wines and hors d'oeuvres from the Marriott or try out the newest beer from The Hub City Tap House - specially brewed this concert. It's going to be a great evening!
