Celebrating the music of Spartanburg, this “locally sourced” program will showcase Spartanburg, past and present, in a delightfully eclectic concert. Displaying the Philharmonic’s string quartet along with flute, clarinet, and piano, this one-hour show offers a little something for everyone.
The program features pieces from Spartanburg locals including our very own Composer-in-Residence, Peter B. Kay, current and previous Converse College professors, and many more. Part of our mission is to enrich the community by further cultivating music education and inspiring others through that process. This is a chance to exhibit the talent and creativity that results from that cultivation and pay homage to our local musicians and composers. Supporting and funding music in our schools and communities is crucial, and these incredibly talented individuals are a testament to that fact.
